British multinational Jaguar contemplates turning its entire lineup electric by 2030.
Jaguar plans on changng its entire lineup to electric only vehicles.
According a report by Autocar, that means no hybrids and no plug-in hybrids for the British multinational car manufacturer, just pure battery electric models.
The report continues to explain that the company has already developed a tentative plan that starts with producing a new electric model to replace the XJ by the end of the current decade.
At the moment, the only European or American car company making only battery electrics is Tesla, therefore, Jaguar would compete directly with the Tesla Model S as well as the upcoming Porsche Taycan.
According to Clean Technica, all of Jaguar’s current models, including sports cars, are set to be replaced by new and updated versions by 2025. This leaves the door open for all new electric sports car from the Leaping Cat brand.
