Next on the rich-list for women is Alex Morgan, the USA player who pockets approximately $450,000 dollars each month.<\/p>\n

On second place for men is the portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, who closed 2016 with a 22-million-dollar monthly earning, still\u00a044 times more\u00a0than the highest earning female player.<\/p>\n

Soccer retains the largest pay gap<\/h6>\n

A<\/span>\u00a0study conducted by the\u00a0BBC<\/a>\u00a0into 68 different sports proved that 83% of sports now pay men and women the same amount in prize money, although soccer strays behind.<\/p>\n

The breach that is seen among pay disparity goes on to the teams, where it is equally notable the loss women\u00b4s category\u00a0has against the mens discipline.<\/p>\n

For example,\u00a0R<\/span>eal Madrid was given over 13 million euros for winning the Champions League, while Lyon, the winners of the women’s Champions League, was compensated with just 220,000 euros.<\/p>\n

Last year, the women\u2019s national soccer team for the USA\u00a0filed a lawsuit\u00a0with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission accusing the U.S. Soccer Federation of wage discrimination.<\/p>\n

In their report, it was stated that despite winning\u00a0four Olympic gold medals and three World Cup championships, men are still overly-payed than women.<\/p>\n

The claims went on to the public eye and caused a loud echo inside soccer administrations, who have taken into serious matter equalizing the considerable breach in earnings.<\/p>\n
