Low and bad treatment for mental health continues in the U.S.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Mental health is real, and it’s costing a lot of money.<\/p>\n

1 in 5 adults across the country deals with such conditions. However, 56% of American adults with the illness did not receive treatment.<\/p>\n

The Huffington Post reported<\/a> the United States spent an estimated\u00a0$201 billion\u00a0on mental disorders in 2013, and since then, it has become the most costly\u00a0medical condition in the U.S.<\/p>\n

Mental conditions have existed always, however, it was until 1986 when psychological health conditions were accounted to improve public health.<\/p>\n

The dangerous matter is that mental health conditions continue to grow and cost the economy a ton of money. Just a decade ago, the cost of heart conditions exceeded the price of mental disorders, but tables have changed, as nearly\u00a0one in four people<\/a>\u00a0in the U.S. will experience a mental health condition at some point in his or her life.<\/p>\n

This problem has also resulted in a lack of seeking help, as negative perceptions surrounding mental illness often\u00a0prevent people from seeking treatment<\/a>, creating deadly consequences with those battling the conditions.<\/p>\n

No treatment equals more imprisonment and less productivity at work<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Less access to mental healthcare is proven to mean a higher rate of imprisonment.<\/p>\n

States like Alabama and Arkansas had the least access to care and the highest rate of imprisonment<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In other key findings on how mental health conditions hurt the local economy,\u00a0the National Alliance on Mental Illness has shown this can result in a negative impact of businesses.<\/p>\n

Allegedly, serious mental illnesses result in approximately\u00a0$193 billion in lost earnings per year.<\/a><\/p>\n

Approximately 11.5\u00a0days of reduced productivity<\/a>\u00a0are registered for every three months for an individual with depression. And 60% of America workers don’t\u00a0disclose an anxiety condition to their employers<\/a>, according to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America<\/p>\n

Gathering and providing up-to-date data is the best way to take on the increasing risk of mental health as it threatens to reach a total of 238.4 billion dollars<\/a> in U.S. expenditure for mental health services by 2020.<\/p>\n
