the Plus service &#8211; with vehicles that can carry up to six people -; Premier, offering high-end cars; Lux, with luxury black cars \u201cpiloted by a top driver\u201d; and an SUV version of Lux.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>The Lyft goal: giving people a choice<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>John Zimmer, President and co-founder of Lyft, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com\/amp\/news\/city_hall\/2017\/11\/13\/lyft-ubers-ride-hailing-rival-is-expanding-to-the-gta.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">stated to the Toronto Star<\/a>: \u201cWe\u2019ve been a business for five years and have been focused entirely on the United States, so we were very deliberate when making a decision to launch in Toronto as our first international market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adding to the statement, he also said: \u201cIt\u2019s important to give people a choice \u2026 In order to provide the best hospitality to the end customer, you need to take best care of the drivers, and that\u2019s something we\u2019ve done for five years,\u201d Zimmer said. \u201cIt will be reliable, it will be affordable, but it will also be an experience more focused on the hospitality service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, Lyft expanded to cover around 94 percent of U.S. residents, up from around 60 percent at the start of the year; it also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/business\/management-leadership\/lyft-launches-first-ever-diversity-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">published a diversity report<\/a> seeking to cover new grounds and innovate regarding the diverse cultural needs across the world\u00b4s workplaces.<\/p>\n<p>According to Recode, Lyft announced it passed $1 billion in revenue in 2017, expanding 168% year over year in the fourth quarter of 2017, almost three times faster than\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2018-02-13\/uber-sales-reach-7-5-billion-in-2017-despite-persistent-turmoil\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Uber\u2019s reported 61% growth<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-shortcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We&#39;ve already given more rides this year than in all previous years combined.
