Their share has shrunk to 50% as craft beers have gained.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Since 2011, the auto-called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tVwjPTJwh-M\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cKing of Beers\u201d<\/a> started losing spots in the list of America&#8217;s favorite beers, now, during the first quarter of 2018, it has dropped to number 4 according to the trade publication <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beerinsights.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Beer Marketer&#8217;s Insights<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As Bud Light highlights itself as America&#8217;s most popular beer, Coors Light comes in second while Miller Lite lures into position 3 despite sales dipping in 2017. Corona Extra remains in spot 5 while Michelob Ultra and Modelo Especial are in 6 and 7.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Are millennials to blame?<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/opinion\/millennials-affecting-alcohol-industry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Studies prove<\/a> millennials are moving away from beer as they prefer other types of alcohol such as wines and spirits, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/thomaspellechia\/2017\/10\/27\/millennials-are-blamed-for-falling-beer-sales-in-the-u-s\/#f26e48d4a78a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">research from Goldman Sachs<\/a> suggested.<\/p>\n<p>However, it&#8217;s not just what millennials are wanting to drink, as a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/millennials-are-killing-beer-chart-2017-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UBS data report<\/a> shows millennials are just not willing to recommend Budweiser as a beer brand to others, contrary to Dos Equis XX and Stella Artois.<\/p>\n<p>This has caused a major impact in the beer industry, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2017-10-26\/this-bud-s-for-who-americans-depose-the-erstwhile-king-of-beers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg reported<\/a> that AB InBev sold 14.4 million barrels of Budweiser in the US last year,\u00a0that is less than one-third of the volume that Americans purchased during 1988.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>The rise of craft beers<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.richmond.com\/food-drink\/for-the-first-time-the-best-selling-beers-in-america\/article_3cfb3028-37ea-508a-9003-04358dda103b.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to Richmond<\/a>, craft beers have become a $23 billion-dollar industry, reaching a 41% gain during 2017, as beers like Belgium&#8217;s Dayblazer, Uinta&#8217;s Park Series Golden Ale and Green Flash&#8217;s GFB blonde have gained momentum.<\/p>\n<p>While overall U.S. beer volume sales were static in 2016, craft beers reached 12.3% of the U.S. beer market.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brewersassociation.org\/statistics\/national-beer-sales-production-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Brewers Association<\/a> stated that retail dollar sales of craft beers increased 10%, up to $23.5 billion, accounting a total of 22% of the $107.6 billion U.S. beer market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Budweiser has fallen out of the top-selling beers in the  [&#8230;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":16019,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[45],"tags":[807,830,832,831,490],"class_list":["post-16017","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-industry","tag-beer","tag-beer-industry","tag-budweiser","tag-craft-beer","tag-millennials"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/16017","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=16017"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/16017\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":16020,"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/16017\/revisions\/16020"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/16019"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=16017"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=16017"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=16017"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
