Russia, Germany, U.K., United States, Japan, and Canada complete the list of most age-standarized deaths per 100,000 people attributed to pollution.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-2 nonhundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" style=\"--awb-border-radius-top-left:0px;--awb-border-radius-top-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-left:0px;--awb-flex-wrap:wrap;\" ><div class=\"fusion-builder-row fusion-row\"><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-1 fusion_builder_column_3_4 3_4 fusion-three-fourth fusion-column-first\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;width:75%;width:calc(75% - ( ( 4% ) * 0.75 ) );margin-right: 4%;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-column-wrapper-legacy\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><h3><strong>Pollution is not only for people on the outside<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>According to the\u00a0<a id=\"LPlnk583558\" class=\"OWAAutoLink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.who.int\/indoorair\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">World Health Organization (WHO)<\/a>, around 3 billion people on Earth cook and heat their homes using solid fuels, for example: wood, coal and crop wastes.<\/p>\n<p>This, however, makes them vulnerable to the dangers, as the combination of incomplete combustion and lack of ventilation leads to very high levels of exposure to dangerous particles.<\/p>\n<p>Just in 2016, a total of 2.45 billion people \u2013approximately one in three global citizens\u2013 were exposed to household pollution from the use of solid fuels.<\/p>\n<p>According to the\u00a0<a id=\"LPlnk16565\" class=\"OWAAutoLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stateofglobalair.org\/sites\/default\/files\/soga-2018-report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">State of Global Air Report<\/a>, India and China \u2014 with 43% and 30%, respectively, of their populations using solid fuels \u2014 had the largest numbers of people exposed to household air pollution in 2016: 560 million in India and 416 million in China.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-2 fusion_builder_column_1_4 1_4 fusion-one-fourth fusion-column-last\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;width:25%;width:calc(25% -
