The future is here.<\/p>\n<p>As state-of-the-art technology finally reaches us and becomes available to all, VR could finally be getting a chance at some high-speed revenue.<\/p>\n<p>According to a new forecast by ARtillry Intelligence,\u00a0consumer VR market is now projected to grow from $2.7 billion last year to $9.2 billion in 2022, a 28% growth rate, and that is something companies like Alaska Airlines want to take advantage of.<\/p>\n<p>As this boom continues to expand, the airline plans to pilot SkyLights&#8217; Allosky Cinematic VR headset aboard its flights Seattle to Boston and Boston to San Diego.<\/p>\n<p>This feature will give passengers access to immersive 3D and forward-facing 360 degree films from 20th Century Fox, Warner Brothers and EIM, partners and sponsors of the airline.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the movies already available are\u00a0<em>Three Billboards Outside Ebbing<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Missouri<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Ready Player One<\/em>\u00a0in 3D and\u00a0<em>Ferdinand.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Participating passengers can also choose from short VR films (focusing on freediving, classical music and acrobatics) especially chosen for in-flight viewing as well as\u00a02D films just in case that the combination of 3D and plane travel is still a bit too much for some people to handle.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_18411\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/a.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18411\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18411\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"608\" srcset=\"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/a-200x152.jpg 200w, http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/a-300x228.jpg 300w, http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/a-400x304.jpg 400w, http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/a-500x380.jpg 500w, http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/a-600x456.jpg 600w, http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/a-700x532.jpg 700w, http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/a-768x584.jpg 768w, http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/a.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-18411\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The airline is testing a cinematic VR headset as a first-class amenity.<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>Other VR pioneers<\/h2>\n<p>Alongside with Alaska Airlines, Qantas and Air France have also hurried to feature this evolving technology in its commercial flights.<\/p>\n<p>Qantas equips some flights with\u00a0Samsung&#8217;s Gear VR since 2015, meanwhile European carriers like\u00a0Air France, Jetfly also test Allosky.
