{"id":18838,"date":"2018-10-11T16:49:16","date_gmt":"2018-10-11T16:49:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/?p=18838"},"modified":"2018-10-31T21:25:01","modified_gmt":"2018-10-31T21:25:01","slug":"ambition-marks-the-birth-of-quibi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/business\/innovation-business\/ambition-marks-the-birth-of-quibi\/","title":{"rendered":"Ambition marks the birth of Quibi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Kobe Bryant and Justin Timberlake want in on the new streaming service: Quibi.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Justin Timberlake and Kobe Bryant\u00a0will produce and appear in the series for Quibi.<\/p>\n<p>The two global stars are in talks to create programs for the new online service backed by titans from Hollywood and the Silicon Valley,\u00a0according to close sources, however, the negotiations haven\u2019t been completed.<\/p>\n<p>Quibi is led by Jeffrey Katzenberg, the long-time head of DreamWorks Animation, and Meg Whitman, the former chief executive officer of EBay and Hewlett-Packard. The name\u00a0of the app is short for quick bites.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis quick-bite form of entertainment should be as big a growth opportunity, as TV was when it came around in the mid-1950s,\u201d Katzenberg said at Vanity Fair\u2019s New Establishment Summit in Beverly Hills.<\/p>\n<p>Talks with Timberlake and Bryant barely offer a glimpse of the programming strategy the service is planning, but executives have also announced a handful of other creative partners, including flimmakers like Guillermo del Toro and Antoine Fuqua, as well as\u00a0\u201cGet Out\u201d producer Jason Blum.<\/p>\n<p>Its ambitious plan\u00a0includes a production of over 70 programs in its first year, about half of which will be original series, estimating a total spending plan of up to $5 million an hour on those shows and their production costs.<\/p>\n<p>The company recently hired Janice Min, former editor-in-chief of the Hollywood Reporter, to oversee entertainment news.<\/p>\n<p>Whitman and Katzenberg plan to launch in late 2019 or early 2020, would be priced at\u00a0$8 monthly without ads and $5 per month with commercials.<\/p>\n<p>Quibi is seeking a 25-35 age demographic and aims to integrate into daily customer routines.
