{"id":19412,"date":"2019-01-02T13:00:40","date_gmt":"2019-01-02T13:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/?p=19412"},"modified":"2019-01-02T19:27:09","modified_gmt":"2019-01-02T19:27:09","slug":"us-new-home-sales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/news\/us-new-home-sales\/","title":{"rendered":"<US new home sales>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. housing market sales plunged to their lowest level since March 2016.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Sales of\u00a0new U.S.\u00a0single-family\u00a0homes\u00a0tumbled to a more than 2\u00bd-year low in October amid sharp declines in all four regions.<\/p>\n<p>Further evidence from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usa.gov\/federal-agencies\/u-s-department-of-commerce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Commerce Department<\/a> announced that higher mortgage rates were hurting the housing market, dropping\u00a0new home sales 8.9% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 544,000 units last month,\u00a0the lowest level since March 2016, and the biggest percent drop since December 2017, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-usa-economy-housing\/u-s-new-home-sales-drop-to-more-than-2-1-2-year-low-idUSKCN1NX1WU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Commerce Department data also showed\u00a0weakness was most pronounced in the Northeast, which\u00a0plunged 18.5% to the lowest level since September 2015. The Midwest witnessed double-digit drops as the hurricane-ravaged South also took a big hit declining 7.7% to its lowest level since July 2017.<\/p>\n<p>New-home sales are just 2.8% higher than in the same period last year.<\/p>\n<p>In October, there were 336,000 new homes on the market, the most since January of 2009, and up 4.3% from September of this year, however, the median price of\u00a0 anew house fell 3.1% to $309,700 in comparison to October from of last year, while\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investing.com\/news\/stock-market-news\/homebuilders-slide-after-soft-new-home-sales-print-1703491\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">inventory-to-sales ratio rose<\/a> to 7.4 months (6 months is considered a &#8220;balance&#8221; market).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/new-home-sales-tick-down-inventory-surges-as-housing-market-outlook-darkens-2018-11-28\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to Market Watch<\/a>, it&#8217;s now a matter of whether the housing cycle\u00a0<a class=\"icon none\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/were-probably-at-peak-housing-heres-what-that-means-2018-06-27\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">comes to an end<\/a>, or stages a rebound,\u00a0like\u00a0<a class=\"icon none\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/why-a-major-home-builder-is-giving-up-on-san-francisco-2016-03-09\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Francisco<\/a>, who rebound after a cooling-off period when the market\u00a0overheated.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIf the economy manages to right itself with real wage growth expanding and housing affordability holding relatively steady (prices and mortgage rates), there is a sufficient backlog of demand to reboot housing for this cycle,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/stevenblitz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Steve Blitz<\/strong><\/a>, chief U.S. economist for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tslombard.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TS Lombard<\/a>, after the release of\u00a0<a class=\"icon none\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/housing-starts-rebound-in-october-even-as-housing-shortfall-lingers-2018-11-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">October housing starts data<\/a>\u00a0earlier in the month.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. housing market sales plunged to their lowest level  [&#8230;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":19413,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1338],"tags":[324,228,1484,1562],"class_list":["post-19412","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-chief-executive-officer","tag-housing-market","tag-market","tag-new-home-sales"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/19412","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=19412"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/19412\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":19416,"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/19412\/revisions\/19416"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/19413"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=19412"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=19412"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=19412"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
