{"id":24414,"date":"2020-01-16T10:44:32","date_gmt":"2020-01-16T10:44:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/?p=24414"},"modified":"2020-01-16T16:44:40","modified_gmt":"2020-01-16T16:44:40","slug":"gm-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/news\/gm-china\/","title":{"rendered":"<GM China>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>General Motors (GM) warns of ongoing challenges in China for 2020.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>After posting its biggest-ever sales drop in China during 2019, General Motors\u00a0Co. warns of a tough 2020.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/01\/07\/gm-warns-of-ongoing-challenges-in-china-as-sales-fall-15percent-in-2019.html?utm_source=morning_brew\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to CNBC reporting<\/a>,\u00a0GM\u2019s sales in China dropped 15.1% to nearly 3.1 million vehicles last year compared with 2018, including a 13.3% year-over-year fall in the fourth quarter. The sales drop marked the second consecutive year of declines for GM amid a weakening Chinese economy and\u00a0trade war with the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe expect the market downturn to continue in 2020, and anticipate ongoing headwinds in our China business,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/media.gm.com\/media\/cn\/en\/gm\/news.detail.html\/content\/Pages\/news\/cn\/en\/2020\/Jan\/0107_sales.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said\u00a0GM China President Matt Tsien through a press release<\/a>, anticipating the harsh year for GM regarding sales in China.\u00a0\u201cDuring the downturn, we are focused on bolstering our product lineup and improving cost efficiency to position our company for strong performance in China over the long term,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the announcement,\u00a0GM said it remains on track to introduce at least 10 electrified, also known as new energy, vehicles in China from 2016 to 2020, following the introduction of more than 20 new and refreshed models in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>China is the world\u2019s largest automotive market and surpassed the U.S. as GM\u2019s top-selling market in 2010, CNBC reports.
