{"id":24531,"date":"2020-02-13T16:07:08","date_gmt":"2020-02-13T16:07:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/?p=24531"},"modified":"2020-02-13T23:44:24","modified_gmt":"2020-02-13T23:44:24","slug":"brain-hacking-the-next-big-nightmare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/business\/innovation-business\/brain-hacking-the-next-big-nightmare\/","title":{"rendered":"Brain-hacking: The next big nightmare"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yuval Noah Harari speculates about the dangers technology poses to the privacy of the mind.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>New technologies are shifting global and strategic competitiveness in multiple domains, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/primezone\/economic-uncertainty-descends-over-davos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">and while the world economy faces dark forecasts<\/a>, so does the future of technology, and more so if you ask someone like\u00a0historian, philosopher and best-selling author of &#8216;Sapiens&#8217; and &#8216;Homo Deus&#8217;,\u00a0Yuval Noah Harari.<\/p>\n<p>Him, journalist Zanny Minton Beddoes, and Ren Zhengfei,\u00a0Huawei Technologies CEO, took stage at\u00a0the World Economic Forum\u2019s 50th annual summit, and sparked a debate about what can be expected in the future of technology, where Yuval&#8217;s dismal view of a future in which all but a person\u2019s soul could be lost shined once again, as he argued that the science fiction vision in which technology turns from a tool to a tyrant isn\u2019t too far off from reality and the world that surrounds us today.<\/p>\n<p>Harari, who is a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and publicly recognized as one of the world&#8217;s most innovative and exciting thinkers, warned\u00a0 that technology\u00a0would soon enable some corporations and governments to hack human beings, warning that the confluence of uncontrolled technology could bring upon \u201can unprecedented existential crisis\u201d to humanity.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThere is a lot of talk of hacking computers, smartphones, computers, emails, bank accounts, but the really big thing is hacking human beings,\u201d <strong>he explained.<\/strong> \u201cIf you have enough data about me and enough computer power and biological knowledge, you can hack my body, my brain, my life (&#8230;) You don\u2019t need to send the soldiers in if you have all the data (&#8230;) Information and data open up the possibility of reaching a point where you know me better than I know myself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You could control a whole other country with data.
