For the first time,\u00a0Forbes\u00a0has analyzed the earning power of podcasts.<\/p>\n

Podcasts have enjoyed of great popularity in the United States.<\/p>\n

According to Statista, in 2006, only 22% of the adult population in the United States was\u00a0aware of this term, but this figure rose to 70% in 2019. Just last year, there were an estimated 86 million\u00a0podcast listeners\u00a0in the U.S., a number which is forecast to grow to around 132 million by 2022.<\/p>\n

With these increasing numbers, it\u2019s evident that there should be top podcasts, and with that in mind, Forbes\u00a0analyzed the highest earners of 2019<\/a>, and Statista made a chart<\/a>.<\/p>\n

  1. The Joe Rogan<\/em>\u00a0Experience<\/em><\/a>, launched in 2009, is the No. 1 podcast\u00a0in the world, according to Apple, and has claimed as many as 190 million downloads per month.<\/li>\n
  2. The true-crime podcast My Favorite Murder<\/em><\/a> generated $15 million last year for its two hosts Karen Kilgariff & Georgia Hardstark.<\/li>\n
  3. The Dave Ramsey Show<\/em><\/a> gives no-nonsense personal finance lessons and budgeting tools to over\u00a013 million weekly listeners, bringing in $10 million annually, according to\u00a0Forbes estimates.<\/li>\n
  4. Dax Shepard and his\u00a0Armchair Expert<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>has amassed an estimated monthly audience of 20 million since the 2018 launch of his talk-show podcast, collecting $9 million annually.<\/li>\n
  5. The Bill Simmons Podcast<\/em><\/a>\u00a0has been in Apple\u2019s top 25 for the past two years.\u00a0The flagship program\u00a0raked in some $7 million last year.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
