NASA found\u00a0\u201csignificant decreases\u201d in nitrogen dioxide over China.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0coronavirus’s\u00a0spread has the world fearing for an upcoming recession<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During the last week of February 2020,\u00a0the\u00a0Dow Jones Industrial Average\u00a0dropped more than 1,000 points, or over 3%, as growing fears of the coronavirus outbreak continue to peak. It represented the stock index\u2019s worst week since the 2008 financial crisis, according to\u00a0ABC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So far, the coronavirus epidemic has caused\u00a0unsettling supply chains<\/a>,\u00a0sapping sales of some products<\/a>, a very rough challenge for travel and cruise companies<\/a>,\u00a0a constant\u00a0freak out over the stock markets<\/a>, and more, however, there is a good thing out of all of this, and it’s that\u00a0NASA and the European Space Agency said their pollution monitoring satellites found \u201csignificant decreases<\/a>\u201d in nitrogen dioxide over China that’s “at least partly related to the economic slowdown” from the coronavirus outbreak.\u00a0Researchers said this drop-off was without precedent.<\/p>\n

According to NASA scientists<\/a>, as millions of people\u00a0have been quarantined<\/a>\u00a0in one of the largest such actions in human history, the reduction in NO2<\/sub>\u00a0pollution first became apparent near Wuhan, but it eventually spread across the entire country.<\/p>\n
