Netflix already uses an adaptive streaming tool that automatically adjusts the quality of streaming video based on accessible bandwidth, the company confirmed to\u00a0<em>The Verge<\/em>. Netflix began the pilot of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/openconnect.netflix.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">its \u201copen connect\u201d program<\/a>\u00a0when the company started streaming video between 2010 and 2011.
