{"id":25627,"date":"2020-03-27T19:32:21","date_gmt":"2020-03-27T19:32:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/?p=25627"},"modified":"2020-03-27T19:37:03","modified_gmt":"2020-03-27T19:37:03","slug":"recession","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/news\/recession\/","title":{"rendered":"<Recession>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The world &#8220;is now in recession,&#8221; says IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Kristalina Georgieva <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/03\/27\/imf-chief-georgieva-says-the-world-is-in-a-recession-containment-will-dictate-strength-of-recovery.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told CNBC<\/a>\u00a0that the global economy is now in a recession thanks to COVID-19, but that she\u2019s heartened to see world leaders finally realizing that only a coordinated effort will be able to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe have stated that the world is now in recession and that the length and depth of this recession depend on two things: Containing the virus and having an effective, coordinated response to the crisis,\u201d <strong>she told CNBC\u2019s\u00a0Sara Eisen.<\/strong> \u201cI\u2019m very encouraged by what I see now. I see much clearer understanding [among global leaders] that if we don\u2019t beat it everywhere we won\u2019t be able to get out of it,\u201d <strong>she added<\/strong>.\u00a0&#8220;We&#8217;ve never seen the world economy standing still. Now we do.
