John Legere, leader of T-Mobile for nearly a decade, handed leadership to his longtime second-in-command, Mike Sievert,\u00a0previously T-Mobile\u2019s COO. Legere was supposed to stay on until the end of April, but Mike Sievert has been appointed CEO a month early, effective immediately.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-exrw3m evys1bk0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/04\/01\/business\/media\/tmobile-closes-sprint-merger.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Times adds<\/a> that the company plans to quickly develop the fifth-generation wireless technology that will bring broadband-style service through the air and is seen as a critical component of the nation\u2019s infrastructure.
