{"id":26124,"date":"2020-04-21T17:17:14","date_gmt":"2020-04-21T17:17:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/?p=26124"},"modified":"2020-04-21T17:26:22","modified_gmt":"2020-04-21T17:26:22","slug":"restaurants-covid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/news\/restaurants-covid\/","title":{"rendered":"<Restaurants COVID>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>US restaurants asked Congress for more financial aid to help weather the COVID crisis.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The coronavirus\u00a0crisis is ravaging the restaurant industry inside the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The National Restaurant Association said its latest survey showed two-thirds of its workers &#8211; more than 8 million people &#8211; have been laid off or furloughed as four in 10 restaurants are closed, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-health-coronavirus-restaurants\/u-s-restaurants-seek-more-aid-on-track-to-lose-240-billion-by-end-of-2020-idUSKBN2221YZ?utm_source=morning_brew\">per Reuters<\/a>, and not just that, experts say the industry is on track to lose $240 billion by the end of 2020, and that is why the industry has\u00a0requested a $240 billion Restaurant and Foodservice Industry Recovery Fund &#8211; after asking lawmakers a month ago for $145 billion in cash relief through such a fund, which was not created.<\/p>\n<p>Such a fund would provide capital to restaurants that lost at least 25% of sales to help them compensate for government-mandated closures, restock inventory, supply safety equipment and rehire workers, the NRA proposed.<\/p>\n<p>These restaurants that are still offering takeout and delivery are operating with skeleton crews at a loss and cannot yet rehire people even with a loan.
