{"id":26439,"date":"2020-06-01T09:15:41","date_gmt":"2020-06-01T09:15:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/?p=26439"},"modified":"2020-06-01T14:16:24","modified_gmt":"2020-06-01T14:16:24","slug":"tiktok-announces-new-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/news\/tiktok-announces-new-ceo\/","title":{"rendered":"<TikTok announces new CEO>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TikTok announced Kevin Mayer will become its\u00a0next CEO.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>After presiding as chairman of Disney\u2019s Direct-to-Consumer and International segment since its founding in 2018 and overseeing the release of Disney Plus, ESPN Plus and the integration of Hulu,\u00a0Kevin Mayer will become the next CEO of TikTok, which has become the perfect video platform for showcasing the insane things people will do when stuck at home for two months.\u00a0Mayer had widely been considered a front-runner for the Disney top job after Bob Iger stepped aside.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2020\/digital\/news\/disney-kevin-mayer-ceo-tiktok-1234609918\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to Variety<\/a>,\u00a0Mayer is also being named chief operating officer of\u00a0ByteDance, the Chinese internet giant that is TikTok\u2019s parent company. In his new role, he is set to face multiple concerns that have arisen as the app boomed in popularity about the platform\u2019s security and privacy. Those include its ties to China\u2019s government, as well as allegations that\u00a0TikTok continues to violate a U.S. children\u2019s privacy law. In March, TikTok hired cybersecurity veteran\u00a0Roland Cloutier\u00a0as chief information security officer.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to have the opportunity to join the amazing team at ByteDance,\u201d <strong>Mayer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2020\/5\/18\/21262872\/disney-plus-streaming-kevin-mayer-tiktok-ceo-bytedance-coo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said in a statement<\/a>.<\/strong> \u201cLike everyone else, I\u2019ve been impressed watching the company build something incredibly rare in TikTok \u2013 a creative, positive online global community \u2013 and I\u2019m excited to help lead the next phase of ByteDance\u2019s journey as the company continues to expand its breadth of products across every region of the world.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Disneyland Resort president\u00a0Rebecca Campbell will succeed Mayer as\u00a0chairman of Direct-to-Consumer and International.
