Neela informed the board of her decision\u00a0late last year and the name of her successor will be announced\u00a0shortly.<\/p>\n<p>Montgomery is the third CEO at the company to do so in the past six years.<\/p>\n<p>Montgomery is<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>hailed for seamlessly integrating the retailer&#8217;s online and offline channels. Speaking at the National Retail Federation&#8217;s Big Show earlier this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildive.com\/news\/crate-and-barrel-ceo-to-exit\/580983\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Retail Dive adds<\/a>, she said\u00a051% of the retailer&#8217;s 2019 holiday sales, across its three brands, were made online.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>This came as Montgomery revealed the retailer halted TV ad spots for the first time last holiday season and instead shifted its focus to social channels, like Instagram, and digital marketing.\u00a0And that shift to digital has\u00a0only grown in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced consumers to shop online as nonessential retail temporarily closed.\u00a0During her tenure, the retailer also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.restaurantdive.com\/news\/crate-barrel-serves-up-1st-restaurant-concept\/558451\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">launched a new concept<\/a>, The Table at Crate, last July and quickly announced plans to expand the restaurant to additional stores. The company in its release also praised her efforts in leading the expansion of the CB2 brand and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildive.com\/news\/crate-barrel-acquires-home-decor-brand-hudson-grace\/557276\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquiring home decor brand Hudson Grace<\/a>\u00a0last year.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Dr.\u00a0<span class=\"xn-person\">Michael Otto<\/span>, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Otto Group said: &#8220;I would like to personally thank Neela for her contribution to the Otto Group over the past six years, first during her tenure in\u00a0<span class=\"xn-location\">Hamburg<\/span>\u00a0and then as the CEO of Crate and Barrel.
