{"id":27128,"date":"2020-07-21T16:28:51","date_gmt":"2020-07-21T16:28:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/?p=27128"},"modified":"2020-07-21T16:37:53","modified_gmt":"2020-07-21T16:37:53","slug":"warner-brothers-delays-tenet-indefinitely","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/news\/warner-brothers-delays-tenet-indefinitely\/","title":{"rendered":"<Warner Brothers delays Tenet indefinitely>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the most bankable names in the film industry gets delayed indefinitely.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In 2017,\u00a0Warner Brothers released Christopher Nolan&#8217;s WWII &#8220;Dunkirk&#8221; into 3,720 theaters, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestreet.com\/investing\/stocks\/how-dunkirk-director-christopher-nolan-has-banked-a-whopping-4-2-billion-at-the-box-office-14237586?utm_source=morning_brew\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">collecting $50.5 million in its debut<\/a>, taking the #1 spot at the box office and cementing Nolan as one of the most bankable names in the film industry right now, but amid the coronavirus pandemic, the $200 million tentpole did not get a conventional release, and with the U.S. being the largest movie market in the world, where huge blockbusters like\u00a0<em>Tenet<\/em>\u00a0can generate up to\u00a0two-thirds\u00a0of their total box office haul from the international market, it&#8217;s understandable what&#8217;s at stake for the behemoth that is trying to take on the\u00a0Marvel and Disney slam dunks.<\/p>\n<p>Digital-only releases like\u00a0Hamilton\u00a0on Disney+ are a success. Just on Independence Day weekend, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/scottmendelson\/2020\/07\/06\/hamilton-disney-plus-subscriptions-cant-compete-with-a-global-theatrical-release-for-soul-mulan-black-widow\/#7adc2a1f2591\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">analytics firm Apptopia noted<\/a> that the Disney Plus streaming service was downloaded (at least via smartphones) 752,451 worldwide and 458,796 in North America over the Fri-Sun frame after Hamilton was released, a 74% jump domestically and +46.6% worldwide from the average over the four weekends of June of 2020.
