This is why Microsoft wants in and announced the acquisition of\u00a0ZeniMax, the parent company of videogame studio Bethesda Softworks, for $7.5 billion.<\/p>\n<p>In the past,\u00a0Microsoft valued exclusivity, making its biggest games, like the\u00a0<em>Halo<\/em>\u00a0series, playable only for people who owned an Xbox.\u00a0Now,\u00a0Microsoft doesn\u2019t care as much about where you play its games, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/21449178\/microsoft-xbox-bethesda-zenimax-media-acquisition-xbox-game-pass\">the Verge\u00a0writes<\/a>. What\u2019s important is that subscribers to Microsoft\u2019s subscription service, Game Pass, get first access to the most popular games.\u00a0Microsoft is no longer playing the same game as Sony, and the Bethesda purchase may well make that point clearer than ever before, the article adds.\u00a0With unique investments in content, community, and the cloud, Microsoft\u2019s gaming strategy differs from others by empowering people to play the games they want, with the people they want, anywhere they want.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Bethesda parent company ZeniMax Media was founded in 1999 by Chairman and CEO Robert A.
