Since Hobart signed with Dick\u2019s in 2017, she\u2019s led many of its winning developments, including&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Restrategizing Dick\u2019s e-comm approach. Of its $8.8 billion in annual sales, $1+ billion now come from e-comm.<\/li>\n<li>Identifying\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/emojipedia-us.s3.dualstack.us-west-1.amazonaws.com\/thumbs\/120\/apple\/237\/chart-with-upwards-trend_1f4c8.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"18\" data-imagetype=\"External\" \/>\u00a0growth segments including private label brands and women\u2019s apparel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThis is the perfect time for this transition,\u201d the outgoing CEO said in a statement, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/11\/24\/dicks-sporting-goods-dks-names-new-ceo-announces-q3-2020-earnings.html\">per CNBC<\/a>. \u201cWe have the best management team in the company\u2019s history, and the investments we have made in our people, our stores, and our communities are paying off.\u201d<\/p>\n<h1><strong>CVS<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>The newly announced CEO Karen Lynch made her first hire: She\u00a0selected\u00a0former Crate &amp; Barrel CEO Neela Montgomery to oversee the chain\u2019s ~10,000 drugstores as president of CVS Pharmacy. Montgomery steered her former employer to generating 50+% of its revenue from online sales\u2014and it\u2019s likely she\u2019ll bring the same omnichannel touch to CVS.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-11-23\/cvs-health-taps-retail-veteran-to-lead-its-pharmacy-business?utm_source=morning_brew\">According to Bloomberg<\/a>, Montgomery will oversee CVS\u2019s roughly 10,000 drugstores in the U.S. at a time when people are buying more convenience items online and the coronavirus pandemic is introducing more patients to ordering prescription medicines the same way. CVS has been transforming itself into a more diversified health-care company, with plans to remodel more than 2,000 of its stores to offer services like diabetes management. It has been shifting its emphasis as a slew of digital pharmacies, including heavyweights like Amazon.com Inc., try to break into the prescription sales business.<\/p>\n<h1><strong>J.Crew<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>The company <a href=\"https:\/\/fashionista.com\/2020\/11\/j-crew-appoints-libby-waddle-ceo\">named Madewell president Libby Wadle to the top spot<\/a>,\u00a0replacing\u00a0former CEO Jan Singer, who\u2019d held the role for 10 months. Madewell has\u00a0consistently grown\u00a0under Wadle\u2019s leadership\u2014teeing the brand up for a planned, then shelved, IPO in the past year.\u00a0 \u00a0&#8220;To be successful in today&#8217;s retail environment, brands must have a strong sense of purpose, deep connection with their customers, and an organizational structure that rewards creativity, agility and innovation,&#8221; Wadle said, in a statement. &#8220;Moving forward as a company under unified leadership, we will harness the power of our collective platforms and talented teams to ensure our brands can continue to inspire and grow.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Path to parity<\/h2>\n<p>Women make up\u00a0<a class=\"x_link\" href=\"https:\/\/link.morningbrew.com\/click\/22205432.68183\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cucmV0YWlsZGl2ZS5jb20vbmV3cy9hcy1yZXRhaWxlcnMtZm9jdXMtb24tZGl2ZXJzaXR5LWV4ZWN1dGl2ZS1yZXByZXNlbnRhdGlvbi1pcy1zdGFnbmFudC81ODU0NzEvP3V0bV9zb3VyY2U9bW9ybmluZ19icmV3\/5dd558ab52ba1e2e5e324481Bfddc7373\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">only 29%<\/a>\u00a0of executives in retail, but 59% of store staff, according to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission data.
