{"id":29268,"date":"2021-03-01T09:34:09","date_gmt":"2021-03-01T15:34:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/?p=29268"},"modified":"2021-03-01T09:34:42","modified_gmt":"2021-03-01T15:34:42","slug":"fda-approves-jjs-single-shot-covid-vaccine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/news\/fda-approves-jjs-single-shot-covid-vaccine\/","title":{"rendered":"FDA approves J&#038;J\u2019s single-shot Covid vaccine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Unlike Pfizer\u2019s and Moderna\u2019s vaccines, J&amp;J\u2019s one-dose regimen eliminates the need for patients to return for a second dose and can be stored at refrigerator temperatures for months.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Food and Drug Administration has approved\u00a0Johnson &amp; Johnson\u2019s Covid-19 vaccine for emergency use, giving the United States important backup in the fight against the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The FDA\u2019s emergency use authorization should significantly aid the federal government\u2019s plan to distribute nearly 4 million doses of J&amp;J\u2019s vaccine to states, pharmacies and community health centers across the nation next week.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>J&amp;J\u2019s vaccine \u201cmakes it operationally easier in lots of contexts,\u201d Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the CDC\u2019s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, told the Journal of the American Medical Association during a Q&amp;A event on Friday. \u201cI expect lots of considerations state health departments are having around these vaccines is more about the ease of use of the J&amp;J vaccine and how it might be better suited for some populations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The company expects to deliver 20 million doses by the end of March, J&amp;J\u2019s vice president of U.S. medical affairs, Dr. Richard Nettles,\u00a0told House lawmakers\u00a0on Tuesday.
