{"id":29525,"date":"2021-03-17T12:07:41","date_gmt":"2021-03-17T18:07:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/?p=29525"},"modified":"2021-03-17T12:07:48","modified_gmt":"2021-03-17T18:07:48","slug":"march-madness-ready-for-1bn-comeback","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/news\/march-madness-ready-for-1bn-comeback\/","title":{"rendered":"March Madness ready for $1bn comeback"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>CBS Sports and Turner Sports could bring in more than $1 billion in advertisement for the NCAA men\u2019s basketball tournament.<\/strong><\/p><p>Just one year ago, the National Collegiate Athletic Association\u2019s (NCAA)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncaa.com\/news\/basketball-men\/article\/2021-march-madness-schedule\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">March Madness<\/a>&nbsp;men\u2019s basketball tournament was&nbsp;canceled due to Covid-19, costing the NCAA in terms of both media&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/college\/2021\/01\/25\/ncaa-revenue-decrease-2020-canceled-ncaa-tournament\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rights revenue<\/a>&nbsp;and ticket sales. The NCAA says it had insurance for the 2019 tournament that paid out&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncaa.org\/about\/resources\/media-center\/news\/look-ncaa-s-financial-contingency-plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$270 million<\/a>&nbsp;to absorb the blow. It has the same insurance in place for 2021.<\/p><p>It\u2019s very unlikely the NCAA will postpone the 2021 tournament, which starts Thursday, despite outbreaks that have prevented top teams, including Duke, from competing in conference play.
