{"id":29956,"date":"2021-04-14T11:22:57","date_gmt":"2021-04-14T16:22:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ceo-na.com\/?p=29956"},"modified":"2021-04-14T11:23:04","modified_gmt":"2021-04-14T16:23:04","slug":"warner-bros-blockbusters-will-appear-in-theaters-first-in-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/servidor-mxigen1.com\/ceona-antiguo\/ceo-life\/art-culture\/warner-bros-blockbusters-will-appear-in-theaters-first-in-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Warner Bros.\u2019 blockbusters will appear in theaters first in 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar reiterated the studio\u2019s commitment to movie theaters, saying blockbusters will debut in cinemas before heading to streaming.<\/strong><\/p><p>Warner Media\u2019s biggest movies will play on the big screen before they head to streaming services as of 2022.<\/p><p>The company\u2019s CEO Jason Kilar reiterated the studio\u2019s commitment to cinemas in a Vox podcast called \u201cRecode Media with Peter Kafka.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cI think it\u2019s very fair to say that a big, you know, let\u2019s say a big DC movie \u2026 it\u2019s very fair to say that that would go exclusively to theaters first and then go to somewhere like an HBO Max after it\u2019s in theaters,\u201d Kilar told Kafka.<\/p><p>It represents a U-turn on Warner Bros.\u2019 2021 strategy of releasing films in movie theaters and on its streaming service HBO Max simultaneously.<\/p><p>Warner Bros. has made a number of deals with movie theaters that would permit it to bring blockbuster films to its streaming service or premium video on-demand in as little at 45 days starting next year.<\/p><p>\u201cI suspect you\u2019re going to see two types of motion pictures,\u201d Kilar said in an interview with CNBC in March. \u201cWhen it comes to strategy from WarnerMedia, one of which is going to be the big and epic in scope movies that you\u2019ve come to expect from us which has an exclusive theatrical run.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cBut clearly, when you think about, you know the world of DC and Harry Potter and things like that big, epic scope movies, I think deserve and will have an exclusive theatrical run,\u201d he added.<\/p><p>\u201cBut there will be other movies, a large number of movies that will go to HBO Max at the same day that those same movies were made available to exhibitors and cinemas around the world.
